Mary Antin was a Russian Immigrant, who was also a woman. Although she was at disadvantage for receiving a good education due to her gender and being an immigrant, she still received a good education. One reason behind this was that she was much more motivated than a lot of the Mexican Americans described in American Me. However, the reason behind this is because although she was an immigrant, she was white. And based on her skin color, teachers treated her a little better, which made it easier for her to succeed and push herself in her education. Based on this, it is easy to say that Mary Antin had a much more inspiring and easier experience in American Schooling. Moving on, the students described in America Me, had a much more rough time trying to receive an education. It was also harder to inspire students who were Mexican American immigrants exceed in the education system, because they went to different schools. They did not get the equal opportunities or equipment that were provided at white schools. They received an education that was less than what Mary Antin Received somewhat. And because of these schools, and because of their color, they were not treated as good as Mary Antin. It is for this reason that it was harder for Mexican Americans to receive a good education. In the end, it is easy to see how the Mexican Americans were given the shorter end of the stick.
